Fiscal Management

Accounting

Jolene Eriksen is an Accountant II with the Fiscal Management section of the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division. She has worked with the Division since 1996. Jolene produces financial statements, approves payments to liquor vendors, balances accounts and monitors the Division's budget.

Prior to joining the Division, Jolene was an accountant II at the Iowa Department of Education, where she worked with community college finances. Leisa Bertram is an Accounting Technician at the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division. Leisa began work with the Division as a temporary picker in 2008 and was hired on full time in 2009. She has worked as a Warehouse Operations Worker as well as a Licensing Clerk Specialist. Her responsibilities as an Accounting Technician include processing liquor sales, balancing inventory, processing payments to liquor vendors, and completing daily deposits. She is also responsible for processing bi-monthly tax reports from beer and wine wholesalers and distributors throughout the state as well as recording monthly wine and beer shipments.

Leisa received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa, with an emphasis in ceramics. She also paints oil on canvas and completed an outdoor mural in 2008 in Cedar Falls Iowa. She has a home studio and also does commissioned pieces. Buildings & Grounds

Bob "Scoop" Anderson is in charge of buildings & grounds maintenance. He started with the Division as a temp in 2006 and was hired on full-time in 2007.

Matt Wharff works with building and grounds maintenance. He mows, plows and does other maintenance and miscellaneous tasks in both the office and warehouse of the property. Matt also holds a Class A commercial drivers license and acts as a back-up delivery driver when necessary.

Human Resources

Dee Nelsen is an Human Resource Associate for the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division and has worked at ABD since July 2001. Dee’s duties include processing of liquor sales, inventory balancing, and deposits.  She also works with personnel regarding payroll, insurance, orientations and changes of employee information.

Information Technology

Bruce Ireland is an Information Technology Specialist V with the Information Technology section of the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division. Bruce develops and maintains software, and assists with network administration for the Division. Additionally, Bruce provides network hardware and software support for the Division’s various operating systems.

Bruce received his Associates Degree in computer programming from Des Moines Area Community College. Prior to working for the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division, Bruce worked for in the State Payroll Data processing Section. Mike England is an Information Technology Specialist IV with the Information Technology section of the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division. Mike works with software development and maintenance, network administration, PC/network hardware and software support and is also the Division help desk trouble shooter. Mike is the lead support for the Division’s products program used to record and process all Class E liquor and will call orders. He also researches and recommends new hardware and software purchases for the Division.

Mike began work in Information Technology within the State of Iowa in 1985, shortly after earning an A.A.S Degree in computer programming from the Des Moines Area Community College. Prior to joining the Division he was with Comptrollers Data Processing as a Computer Operator and Programmer Analyst and with Administrative Services Division as a Systems Analyst.
