Karen Freund is Lead Worker
in the Licensing Section of the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division.
Karen is responsible for providing oversight regarding new and
renewal alcoholic beverage licenses, the license scanning program,
license refunds, debt collections, and the preparation of new
and renewal of license application forms. Karen develops new
licensing applications or programs and manages daily issues
concerning Licensing Section actions.

Diane Natale is a Licensing
Clerk Specialist for the Licensing Section of the Iowa Alcoholic
Beverages Division. Serving in this capacity Diane reviews and
evaluates new applications for liquor and beer licenses determining
qualified applicants by ensuring the validity of all certificates
and supporting documents. Diane also provides accurate responses
to telephone requests for alcohol beverage licensing information.
Diane worked as an accountant for a private sector business
prior to joining the Division as a Licensing Clerk Specialist

Janet Hammond is a Licensing
Clerk Specialist for the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division and
has worked in such capacity for seven years. Janets responsibilities
include renewal of beer and wine licenses, carry out wine permits
and the issuance of new liquor and beer licenses for qualified
applicants. Janet also issues suspension of license notices
when dram shop insurance coverage is cancelled or lapsed.
Janet responds to questions providing licensing information
to applicants, licensees, insurance companies, and to city officials.
Janet has completed three years of college courses in business
administration and two years of medical training. She has been
with the Division sixteen years, first as a Purchasing Assistant,

Annie Adamovicz is a Licensing
Clerk Specialist for the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division.
Annie began work with the Division as a Purchasing Assistant
in 1997 and recently was promoted to the Licensing Specialist
classification. Annies responsibilities include a daily
balancing of license fees received and licenses issued, a review
for bond cancellations and non-renewals and the merging and
issuing of new and renewal licenses for the package liquor stores
in Iowa.
Annie is working toward a degree in public administration having
earned college credits from Upper Iowa University and Des Moines

Gitta Nelson is a Secretary
for the Licensing Section of the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division.
Gittas responsibilities include examining corporate information
provided by new and renewal license applicants, issuing vintner,
brewer or distiller licenses, and manufacturers licenses.
Gitta also processes all requests for license transfer or outdoor
service licenses and is a customer service link by appropriately
answering questions or channeling inquiries to the responsible
individual.

Liz Shipley is a Licensing
Clerk Specialist in the Licensing Division of the Iowa Alcoholic
Beverages Division. Liz is responsible for the renewal of on-premise
liquor licenses, determining that an application has been completed
and approved by the local authority, notarized, and that dram
shop insurance has been provided. Liz also provides licensing
information to licensees and city officials that telephone the
Division with questions.
Liz has worked for the Department of Human Services, Administrative
Services, and the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division as a Purchasing
Assistant before assuming her position as a Licensing Clerk
Specialist. Liz has completed degree work in junior accounting
and automation from the American Institute of Business and has
earned additional credits in accounting from Des Moines Area

Judy Seib is the special projects
coordinator for the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division. Judy
oversees a wide variety of projects as well as conducting research
and drafting the Divisions administrative rules. She also
oversees all alcohol regulatory matters for the Division. Prior
to her appointment as special projects coordinator, Judy held
the position of licensing and regulation Bureau Chief with the
Division.
Judy has worked for the State of Iowa for twenty-two years.
Prior to her work with the Division, Judy worked in public relations
for the Iowa Refugee Service Center as part of then Governor
Robert Rays resettlement efforts for the Southeast Asian
community. Judy has a B.F.A. in Education from Drake University

Debra Harlan is an Administrative
Assistant and the Administrator of Hearings for the Iowa Alcoholic
Beverages Division. Debra coordinates with the Iowa Department
of Justice and readies administrative hearing complaints, manages
contested case and appeal dockets, negotiates settlements, and
brings about settlement agreements. Debra also has been assigned
to assist the Tobacco Enforcement Section.
Debra has worked for the Division twenty-three years, employed
as a Clerk Typist II in the Licensing Section prior to her current
